The most common reason compression socks don't work: people don't wear them.
Doctors recommend compression socks for varicose veins, but most are too uncomfortable to wear every day.
That's where we come in. Mode was built to make compression socks easier and more comfortable to incorporate into your every day life.

Questions? We've got answers.
Do compression socks help with varicose veins?
Yes. Graduated compression supports the vein walls, reduces blood pooling, and helps with aching and swelling. The evidence is strongest for symptom relief, less heaviness, less discomfort, less swelling by end of day. It's less clear whether compression slows the progression of the veins themselves. But for daily comfort, it makes a real difference.
What compression level is best for varicose veins?
For mild-to-moderate discomfort and prevention, 15-20 mmHg is a common starting point. For more significant varicose veins, your doctor may recommend 20-30 mmHg. Mode is 15-20 mmHg, right for everyday management. If your veins are more severe, check with your doctor first.
Can compression socks reverse varicose veins?
No. Compression manages symptoms and may slow progression, but it won't reverse existing varicose veins. Surgery or procedures are the only way to address the veins themselves. Compression is for daily comfort and prevention, and it does that job well.
How long should I wear compression socks each day?
Most recommendations are to wear them during the day while upright, and remove them when lying down. All-day wear is typical for people using them for varicose vein management. Putting them on first thing in the morning, before you're on your feet, is when they're most effective.
Are compression socks safe to wear long-term?
Yes, for the compression levels used in everyday socks like Mode's 15-20 mmHg. If you have peripheral artery disease or other circulatory conditions, check with your doctor before wearing compression. For most people managing varicose veins, daily wear is safe and recommended.
Do you have wide-calf options?
Yes. Mode offers a full size range including wide-calf sizing, up to a 21" calf circumference. Measure the widest part of your calf circumference and reference our size guide on the product page to determine if you would benefit from wide calf sizing.
