Close-up of legs wearing black knee-high compression socks on a white background

For frequent flyers & travelers

Land without the swollen ankles.

Puffy feet, heavy legs, that post-flight drag. Compression socks are the easiest upgrade you're not making.

Nobody told you flight socks were supposed to look like flight socks.

You've seen those beige compression stockings in the airport pharmacy. The ones that scream "medical device." You've also felt that moment at landing when you look down at your ankles and they've taken on a life of their own.

Mode was built for people who need compression but don't want to look (or feel) like they're wearing it. Clean, simple socks that keep circulation moving for 10 hours straight, and look like something you'd wear anyway.

Keeps circulation moving.

Sitting still for hours slows blood flow in your legs. Graduated compression does the pumping work your leg muscles can't do while you're seated. Less pooling, less swelling, less that heavy dead-leg feeling when you land.

Looks like a regular sock.

Not a neon sports sock. Not a clinical compression stocking. Just clean, simple, and normal-looking, whether you're in business class or a middle seat.

Breathable for 10+ hours.

Recycled airplane air is already rough. Cotton stays breathable through a long-haul flight, a layover, and a 45-minute taxi to the hotel. The cuff doesn't cut in at hour eight.

The Mode Difference

Made with cotton.

Breathable and soft for hours of wear in dry cabin air, nothing like the synthetic compression socks you've tried before.

No marks.

The cuff stays put without digging in at the end of a long flight. No lines, no rolling, no mid-flight adjustments.

Looks like regular socks.

Nothing announces you're wearing compression. Clean colors, clean design, pack them next to anything.

Wide-calf friendly.

Sizing built for real leg shapes, not one-size assumptions. Regular and wide-calf options available.

Built by someone who wears compression socks every day, including on every flight.

Kate, Mode's founder, has worn compression socks since she was 16. She has lymphedema, which means compression isn't optional. It's part of her routine no matter where she goes.

After years of dealing with socks that were too hot, too stiff, or too embarrassing to wear in public, she built Mode. These are the socks she brings on every trip. She hopes you will too.

Questions? We've got answers.

Do compression socks actually help on flights?

Yes, particularly for flights over 4-6 hours. They keep blood moving while you're seated and reduce swelling on arrival. Sitting still for hours slows circulation in your lower legs, compression does the work your muscles can't do from a middle seat.

What compression level should I wear for travel?

15-20 mmHg is the most widely recommended level for travel. Strong enough to make a real difference, comfortable for a full travel day. Mode socks are 15-20 mmHg, you don't need to go higher for standard flights.

When should I put them on before a flight?

Put them on before you leave for the airport, ideally while you're still horizontal in the morning. Don't wait until you're already swollen. Compression works best when you start before the problem begins.

Are they useful on long road trips too?

Absolutely. Any extended period of sitting applies the same principles. A long drive has the same effect on your circulation as a flight, your legs are stationary, blood pools, and you arrive feeling heavy and stiff. Compression helps either way.

Do compression socks prevent jet lag?

They help with the physical component. Better circulation means less heavy, puffy feeling on arrival, which makes a real difference in how you feel after crossing time zones. You still have to deal with the time change, but at least your legs won't feel like sandbags.

How do I wash them while traveling?

Machine wash cold, low-heat dryer or hang to dry. A sink rinse and overnight air dry works fine in a hotel. They're built to handle the road, one pair can last a full trip with basic care.

Pack one thing your legs will actually thank you for.

Made with cotton. Built for all-day wear. These are the socks for the journey, not just the destination.
